BIKES
Launched in 2024, BIKES is an ongoing artistic research project that explores a moving networked instrument for music and sound art in urban surroundings. % Four electric cargo bikes, each equipped with a battery-powered sound system and an onboard computer with a touchscreen interface, are connected through a wireless mesh network. % As a distributed instrument, the system can be used both in motion and for impromptu interactive sound installations.
BIKES has been used in several public activations, including group rides and installations. The instrument allows site-specific critical urban practice to challenge and celebrate our environment.
